Electrical Safety First!!!

Before you go to touch any low voltage electrical system, first things you must always remind ourselves, “SAFETY FIRST” is our most concerned matter. Why? It simply that you don’t want any unhappy things like the following happens on us. It’s not just money matter but your body and life are irreplaceable and very precious than gold. Furthermore, you are the pillar of our family who need you so much. Everyday, they want see you go back in whole piece.

You may find the main reasons of electrical safety concern are mentioned as below:-

i) LIFE IN DANGER - we must avoid any electric shock which make us uncomfortable whole day. More seriously, it may bring fatality with direct contact on exceeding 30mA current when time prolongs.

Basic Solution: use Residual Current Device (RCD) to cut off the current leakage promptly.

Figure 1: Residual Current Device (RCD)

In the market, you can search many forms of RCDs as displayed as above. The useful data is as follows:

1) In : 40 Amperes (Normal current),

2) I∆n : 0.03A or 30mA (Operating current),

3) Un : 240V~ (System Voltage),

4) 50Hz (System frequency).

5) 2 poles ( two upper terminals & two lower terminals)

Now, we will move to the next safety reason:-

ii) PROPERTY DAMAGES - we must prevent any fire on the building and equipment which cause from overheating.

Basic Solution: use Circuit Breaker (CB) to isolate the overcurrent effectively.

1) In : 60 Amperes (Normal current),

2) Un : 415V~ (System Voltage),

3) 50Hz (System frequency).

4) 3 poles ( three upper terminals & three lower terminals)

iii) LOSS OF PRODUCTION – we must avoid the nuisance trip on the electric machines to ensure continuous operation without disturbance.

Basic Solution: select the proper rating and setting of Circuit Breaker or RCD.

All electrical equipments are manufactured and governed in compliance to the local legislation and electrical ordinance which make sure all manufacturers meet their standard.

The selection of RCD and CB will be discussed in detail later on.

WHY CHOOSE ENERGY SAVING LIGHT BULBS?

There are many good reasons to switch to energy saving light bulbs. There are a few questions to ask yourself if you are considering the change.

  • Do you want to lower your electricity bills?
  • Do you want to contribute to preserving the environment?
  • Do you want easy replacement of your lights?
  • Do you want longer life for your lights?
  • Do you want reduced glare in your lighting?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above, then Energy Savers are for you!

You may try this simple test. Compare two lamps that emit the same amount of light but different amounts of energy (wattage) over the long term of 1,000 hours for each. This cost takes into account the purchase price of the lamp, the cost to operate it, and how long it lasts. If the light you are considering as a replacement gives a lower cost per 1,000 hours, then it’s “enough” to save you money, no matter how much greater its purchase price may be.

Same shine, less wattage
Energy savers save you energy costs while offering similar light output as higher wattage incandescent bulbs. You use less electricity and pay up to 80% less to illuminate your area. Now that is smart saving!

Easy change
Energy savers come in three types E27 (screw type), B22 (pin type) and E14 (small screw type) that fit most conventional fixtures, ensuring hassle-free replacement of bulbs. Energy savers give out less heat making them safer even as bare bulbs, and allowing quicker changing.

Green Lanterns
By reducing demand for electricity, energy savers help preserve the earth’s resources and reduce harmful environmental emissions.

Longer Life
In addition to being flicker free, energy savers come with a minimum of up to 6000 hours lamp life or 3 years regular usage.

Quality
All energy saving products come with an impressive record of quality.
